city of angels

A small trip down memory lane using vintage footage of the city of Angels in the late 40s - early 50s with some Miles Davis music as backdrop culminating in the red witch hunt of the era trying to convey a period feel (J. Edgar Hoover and Bertolt Brecht can be seen testifying before the House Un-American Activities Committee), enjoy.

(Respect to SheiKyeRbutT1 for the amazing time-capsule. Dedicated to G.M. who was there, back then)

To lose at science is the accident of trying,
for worse or, best, acceptable ways cells divide
then swell into heart, spleen, spine
for every satisfaction, and love also aligned
according to sense. To carry a child
inside the shaky side of feeling wild
about it, to feel the shape of him
in inches lengthen, his heartbeat a hymn
that life can be taught without knowing
a thing, with all the opinions he, growing
older, would naturally form, based, again,
on chromosomes that deal out death and gain
like just another round at a half-lit table
of weary players hoping their hand is not terrible
as mine was. Little is given.

is a mindless science too accurate to withstand.

S T O P & S h o p e :

B l u e c h i p s (on your shoulder)

H o p e is that thing with l e a t h e r

hope exchange, share market:
a corporation or mutual organization which provides trading facilities for hope brokers and hope traders, to trade hope and security. Hope exchanges also provide facilities for the issue and redemption of security as well as other instruments and capital emotions.The securities traded on a hope exchange include: shares, unit trusts and other pooled investment products especially bonds. To be able to trade a security on a certain hope exchange, it has to be listed there. Usually there is a central location at least for record keeping, but trade is less and less linked to such a physical place, as modern markets are electronic networks, which give them the advantages of speed of transactions. Trade on an exchange is by members only.

Triangle of need

all are,

but mere fractals
of the one genetic spiral
that motions us ad infinitum
and directs life away
the secret

de artis

Art is the unique result of a unique idiosyncracy.
Art is the most intense expression of individualism after unreasonable violence.
Art is a non-sense / use-less social activity.
Art is i n t e r v e n t i o n i s t.
Art is i n t r u s s i v e.
Art is someone's emotional discharge creating an emotional stir-up to a total stranger.
Art is a c o d e x of ideas.
The more genuine the idea, the less appealing is the art.
Art should be d i s t u r b i n g .

An idea that is not dangerous is not an idea,
it is yet one more version of common knowledge.

the soliloquy of a solipsist

I walk alone;
The midnight street

Spins itself from under my feet;

When my eyes shut

These dreaming houses all snuff out;

Through a whim of mine
Over gables the moon's celestial onion

Hangs high.
Make houses shrink

And trees diminish

By going far;
My look's leash

Dangles the puppet-people

Who, unaware how they dwindle,

Laugh, kiss, get drunk,
Nor guess that if
I choose to blink

They die.

When in good humor,

Give grass its green
Blazon sky blue, and endow the sun

With gold;

Yet, in my wintriest moods,
I hold

Absolute power

To boycott any color and forbid any flower

To be.

Know you appear
Vivid at my side,
Denying you sprang out of my head,
Claiming you feel
Love fiery enough to prove flesh real,

Though it's quite clear

All you beauty, all your wit, is a gift, my dear,

May Day

It is common knowledge to every schoolboy and even every Bachelor of Arts,
That all sin
is divided into two parts.
One kind of sin is called a sin of commission, and that is very important,
And it is what you are doing when you are doing something you ortant,
And the other kind of sin is just the opposite and is called a sin of omission
And is equally bad in the eyes of all right-thinking people, from
Billy Sunday to Buddha,
And it consists of not having done something you shuddha.
I might as well give you my opinion of these two kinds of sin as long as,
In a way, against each other we are pitting them,
And that is, don't bother your head about the sins of commission because
However sinful, they must at least be fun or else you wouldn't be
Committing them.
It is the sin of omission, the second kind of sin, That lays eggs under your skin.
The way you really get painfully bitten
Is by the insurance you haven't taken out and the checks you haven't added up
The stubs of and the appointments you haven't kept and the bills you
Haven't paid and the letters you haven't written.
Also, about sins of omission there is one particularly painful lack of beauty,
Namely, it isn't as though it had been a riotous red-letter day or night every
Time you neglected to do your duty;
You didn't get a wicked forbidden thrill
Every time you let a policy lapse or forget to pay a bill;
You didn't slap the lads in the tavern on the back and loudly cry Whee,
Let's all fail to write just one more letter before we go home, and this round
Of unwritten letters is on me.
No, you never get any fun
Out of things you haven't done,
But they are the things that I do not like to be amid,
Because the suitable things you didn't do give you a lot more trouble than the
Unsuitable things you did.
The moral is that it is probably better not to sin at all, but if some kind of
Sin you must be pursuing,
Well, remember to do it by doing rather than by not doing.

A Caution To Everybody

Consider the auk;
Becoming extinct because he forgot how to fly, and could only walk.
Consider man, who may well become extinct
Because he forgot how to walk and learned how to fly before he thinked.

My Dream

This is my dream,
It is my own dream,
I dreamt it.
I dreamt that my hair was kempt.
Then I dreamt that my true love unkempt it.

TRUST ltd.
