Happiness (n.)

The ghost - amusement park at the junction of Ignorance and Naivety avenues, which appears from the outside to be a vast colorful area of impressive rides, fun and games.

However, the unaware folk that have passed its gates return deaf-mute and blind and sometimes never even return. The very few disputed reports from ‘the other side’ say that once one passes the gates of Happiness s/he is faced with the greatest surprise. The fun and rides perceived from outside disappear instantly and Happiness becomes a huge wasteland. Its only inhabitant is a furious, screaming unemployed ex-clown midget, mr. Tiny Routeen, whose scream is so high-pitched that it induces major damages to all sensors (even the eyes) of those who get closer than a one-mile radius.

As a result, when asked whether they would revisit its grounds, the few unfortunate Happiness survivors answer unanimously: “We would rather fall in a pond of honey and get attacked by queen-wasps, than return to Happiness”.

In everyday life the word Happiness is used as a synonym to a very big check that bounces. F.i. “He was so eager to cash out his Happiness, only to find out that the account was empty”.

825 posts.

art by chiharu shiatu

"Only on the shoulders of this great social movement can true Art lift itself from its present state of civilised barbarianism, and take its post of honour. Each has a common goal, and the twain can only reach it when they recognise it jointly"
- RICHARD WAGNER, Art and Revolution

An ant knows what to do with a live leaf much more than we know what to do with life. And yet we kill it on our way to knowledge. And yet, we laugh with the conceit of a creator who has created nothing to write memoirs about but self-inflicting chaos and still experiment with amino acids in order to gain God's title in committees of his self-congratulatory species.
Civilization is the pompous, heavy crown of a greedy and self-destructing ape who spoils every ground it walks on. As if quicksand would not suck up him who thinks that he has the blueprint for the mechanism that can defy gravity. As if quicksand can be annihilated by an ape who concidering himself larger than life manufactures the perfect machine to escape a black hole: but can't figure out how to escape from himself.

A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that's unlocked and opens inwards; as long as it does not occur to him to pull rather than push.

William Mulready, The Seven Ages of Man (1838)

Seven Ages Of Man

by William Shakespeare

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant,
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,
Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard,
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel,
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,
In fair round belly with good capon lin'd,
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,
Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon,
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well sav'd, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Love (n.)

The unlucky, frail relative of the dove. An extinct bird, medium to small in size, but rare and charismatic in its acrobatic aviation skills. It was known as the Prima Ballerina of the skies. Instead of feathers, its body was covered by multi-colored fur. However, because of unfortunate mutations in the evolutionary process, the Love had no reproduction system (a fact which sentenced the species to exist only for one generation) and no legs (a genetic deformity which obliged it to fly constantly without the option of landing). Thus, the Love had a surprisingly limited lifespan. It lived only for a year or two and never died of old age. Half of the species dropped dead while flying, caused by extreme fatigue and the rest was killed by crushing on the windshields of airplanes, or sucked by their engines.

The most famous Love in the species’ short history was part of the duet known as the ‘Lovey-Dovey’ where two cousins (Lovey and Dovey) performed together with great success. Unforunately, the Love was doing all the dangerous acrobatics while the Dove was getting all the checks and chicks.

In everyday life, the word ‘Love’ is used as synonym to bad luck.

F.i. "This pitiful girl is pure Love. I wonder how she still survives”.
